Kent Railway Station Transfers: Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Thanet and More

A guide to Kent's main railway stations and the journeys around them: avoiding station car parks, early trains, late returns and getting visitors to the door.

Kent has some of the fastest rail links to London in the country. Since the high-speed line opened, Ashford International to St Pancras has taken under forty minutes, and towns from Canterbury to Ramsgate are now comfortably within commuting distance. The weak link is usually the bit nobody plans for: getting to and from the station. Car parks fill up, taxi ranks empty out late at night, and visitors arriving from London often have no idea how far the station is from where they're going.

We run station transfers across Kent every day. Here's a guide to the county's main stations and how a pre-booked car fits around them.

Ashford International

Ashford International is the fastest route into London from Kent, with high-speed trains to St Pancras in around 37 minutes. It's also the busiest interchange in the county, which means the car parks are busy and expensive. We collect and drop off at the station throughout the day and are a regular choice for business visitors heading to Eureka Park, Orbital Park or the town centre. See our Ashford page for more.

Canterbury West and Canterbury East

Canterbury has two stations. Canterbury West has high-speed services to St Pancras in just under an hour, while Canterbury East runs to London Victoria. Visitors often don't realise they're on opposite sides of the city centre, so it's worth checking which one your train uses. We regularly collect students, academics and visitors arriving for the university, the cathedral and business in the city. More on our Canterbury page.

Dover Priory and Folkestone

Dover Priory has high-speed trains to St Pancras via Folkestone, as well as services towards Canterbury and Ashford. It's also a useful arrival point for ferry and cruise passengers, though the walk to the port isn't one you'd want to do with luggage. Folkestone has two stations, Central and West, both on the high-speed line. See our Dover and Folkestone pages.

Thanet: Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate

All three Thanet towns have direct trains to London, including high-speed services to St Pancras. Journey times to London are typically around an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half. Ramsgate is the hub of the area, while Margate and Broadstairs are well placed for the seafronts and town centres. We cover all three every day. See our pages for Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.

Why Book a Car to the Station?

No parking stress. Station car parks in Kent fill up early on weekdays, and a week's parking adds up quickly.

Early trains. For a first train or an early connection to Eurostar at St Pancras, a pre-booked car means you're not relying on a rank that may be empty at 5am.

Late returns. Coming back after a show or a late meeting, it's reassuring to know a car is waiting rather than hoping for a taxi.

Luggage and family. Getting suitcases, pushchairs and children to the platform is easier with door-to-door help.

Visitors. If friends, family or clients are coming down from London, we'll meet their train and bring them straight to you.

How Station Collections Work

Tell us which station and which train, and we'll time the collection to it. Your driver will meet you at the agreed point, normally the station forecourt or drop-off area, and help with any luggage. Every price is fixed in advance. If plans change on the day, call us or send a message on WhatsApp and we'll adjust.

Or Skip the Train Altogether

For some journeys the train simply isn't the best answer. If you're travelling with heavy luggage, with a family, or to somewhere that needs two or three changes, a single door-to-door journey can be quicker and far less tiring. Our long-distance private hire covers any destination in the UK.

Whitstable, Herne Bay and the North Kent Coast

Whitstable and Herne Bay are on the line to London Victoria, with a journey of around an hour and a half, and some services also run into St Pancras. Both stations sit a short distance from the seafront, which is pleasant on a summer evening but less so in the rain with a suitcase. We collect from both stations and from the villages around them, including Tankerton, Chestfield and Herne. See our pages for Whitstable and Herne Bay.

Ebbsfleet International

Ebbsfleet, near Dartford, is on the high-speed line with trains to St Pancras in under twenty minutes. It's mostly used by people living in North Kent, but it can also be a useful meeting point for visitors heading towards the M25 or Bluewater. We're happy to collect from or drop off at Ebbsfleet as part of a longer journey.

Station Transfers for Students and Visitors

The start and end of university terms bring a lot of students through Canterbury's stations, many arriving from London with a term's worth of belongings. The same applies to families visiting relatives, tourists heading for the coast and people arriving for hospital appointments. For anyone who doesn't know the area, a driver waiting at the station takes all the uncertainty out of the last few miles. Tell us who we're collecting and we'll make sure they find us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you collect from any station in Kent?
Yes. We cover all the main stations and the smaller ones too, from Ashford International to rural halts.

What if my train is delayed?
Let us know by phone or WhatsApp and we'll adjust the collection. We always try to be flexible when trains run late.

Is it cheaper than parking at the station?
For short local journeys it often is, especially if you're away for several days.

Can you meet someone who doesn't know the area?
Yes. Send us their name and train, and the driver will meet them at the station and bring them straight to the address.

Can you take me from my home to a station outside Kent?
Yes. Some clients prefer to be driven to a London terminal such as St Pancras or Victoria, especially with heavy luggage or an early international departure.

Do you collect from smaller stations?
Yes. As well as the main stations, we collect from village stations across East Kent, from Wye and Chartham to Minster and Sandwich.
